Analyst Summary: Medical Guardian   |  Mini Guardian

This is a go anywhere mobile alert with fall detection. It is included in our comparative evaluation of mobile medical alerts.

This page is archival and is no longer being updated.

This product was a new entrant to the field in 2020. It is quite similar to its “companion product”, the Medical Guardian, Active Guardian in terms of the basic features. However it is smaller and lighter.

It has a number of noteworthy noteworthy features, in addition to those typical for products in this class.

  • it includes both GPS location technology and WiFi location technology, which might make it more accurate in knowing where you are at all times (we have not tested this);
  • it claims a battery life of 5 days, which is good for this class of product.

It’s big draw is the size and weight.

  1. Can this product use its wifi
    Can this product use its wifi connection to help boost it’s reception? The issue in my grandmothers house is that she has pretty poor reception. She currently has a medical guardian product that uses her land line, but testing revealed that it does not work in her upstairs shower ( a big point of worry for us).

    If this device could use a strong wifi signal it would be perfect, but I am not sure if I am understanding correctly the way it works…
